Moving In Day

Stuff Everywhere
Andy Supervises the Movers
The next day after a hearty breakfast we got started unloading the truck. We were very lucky to be able to park the truck very near the new apartment and Andy had hired some local guys to help us unload, they were great, and they were fast which was good because it was hot. As I was not to lift anything, I supervised the placement of furniture and boxes and tried to make sure everyone stated hydrated as it was a scorcher of a day. After 3 hours of solid work, we were all unloaded and it was time to take the Penske truck and turn it in. Dad and I drove the truck and Andy followed in the Subaru. After everything was checked out we decided to go find something to eat. Andy had taken the day off from work to help with the unload so we wanted to make the most of our time with him.

We really had no plan whatsoever, and ended up driving around seeing the sights. We went to see where Andy works, but because of his high security clearance we were unable to see anything more than the locked gate.
Eventually, we ended up at Embarcado and we ate dinner at the Fish Market. I had fish tacos and boy were they good! After dinner we wandered around the harbor. The USS Midway is docked in the harbor and we were able to admire it, but we were unable to go to the museum as it was closed for the day. When it got dark we headed back home. As we were wandering around the harbor it was easy to forget the mess that awaited us when we arrived home. Andy and I spent at least an hour trying to get our bed put together and poor Dad had to sleep on my couch that night as we had quite successfully buried his bed frame and mattress on opposite ends of the room.
